| Miami,
Florida is an international city. It is sometimes called
the "Gateway to the new World" or "Magic
City". South Florida is unlike any other destination
in the United States. It is located on the southern
tip of Florida; between the Florida Everglades and the
Atlantic Ocean. Miami is Florida's largest city. Over
half of the two million plus people who live in the
Miami area are of Hispanic descent. English, Spanish
and Creole are the predominant languages in Miami. |
Miami is one of the most exciting
cities in the United States. It is famous world over
because of its tropical temperatures, palm tree lined
streets and diverse inhabitants. Miami's art, music,
food and entertainment are also world class. It's remarkable
that a little over a century ago, Miami was mostly swamp
land. At that time, there were only 300 people in the
entire city. Today, it boasts over 2.2 million people.
Miami
has some of the world's best beaches. There are the
beaches of Key Biscayne, Virginia Beach, Miami Beach
and South Beach. Your choices are endless. You could
swim, surf, sunbathe, search for shells, or build sandcastles
all day. South Florida has an Ancient Spanish Monastery,
the Miami Metro Zoo and many various other attractions
such as the Miami Museum of Science & Space Transit
and the Miami Seaquarium.
